was born 30 years ago as the publisher of AGAIN magazine. “A Call for the People of God to Return to their Roots in Historic Christianity Once . . . AGAIN” began as the unofficial newspaper for a group of 2000 evangelicals who were searching for the historic Church. Over the years, their search through the early Church fathers led them to a stunning conclusion, that the early Church still lived today, and was in fact the Orthodox Christian Church.
This group of seekers—led by former Campus Crusade for Christ leaders, including Peter Gillquist—became Orthodox Christians in 1987 when they joined the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church of North America. Metropolitan Philip Saliba commissioned Conciliar Press to do on a large scale what we had been doing independently for over 10 years—to carry the story of the ancient faith to the modern world.
Conciliar Press now produces two quarterly magazines, dozens of books by the best writers in American Orthodoxy, icons, cards, and more. Conciliar Press is the primary distributor of the New Testament Orthodox Study Bible, and will begin distributing in early 2008 the Old Testament Orthodox Study Bible, published by Thomas Nelson.
